31- day writing challenge Day 3

Third day of the writing challenge and today's topic is "The best memory from this year, so far". So, I went through my photos from this year to jog my memory and there wasn`t only one thing that stood out, so I though I would mention a few, like I did yesterday.

The first thing that came to mind was a trip I had in March to another city where I went on a 4-day mindfulness course. I met people with similar struggles to me and it was so amazing to have other people you could relate to. On the course, we learned about mindfulness and basically how to cope better with life. We learned how to manage stress and when to push ourselves further and when to hold back. It was a pretty good course, but I loved meeting all these people from all over.

Recently, I've been having weekly video chats with a friend of mine from Australia. I met her when I lived there for a year. There`sa 8 hour time difference, but we have found a day that works for us, and I love it so much. We talk about everything from our cats, everyday life to the universe and animals.

A month ago, I went for a walk in my neighbourhood. But this time I chose to walk a little further around the neighbourhood, basically behind the mountain I've always been in front of. And it has become my new favorite place. The nature is so well preserved there, so wild flowers and tall grass everywhere, sheep, cows and a beautiful view. A week later, I decided to show the place to my sister and my dad. My dad has actually been there before, and they thought it was beautiful as well. However, my dad told me that if we went another way (somewhere I hadn't been yet), we would find a small area where he learned to swim when he was around 9 years old. He didn't quite remember their way as he hadn't been there since he was a child, so in 50 years ago. Therefore, we had a bit of a struggle finding where it was, but we ended up figuring it out in the end, as it was beautiful there as well. My sister actually decided to take a swim there as well, and I only dipped my feet because it was so ingrown and untouched.

Last, two weeks ago I went to another city 3 hours away from home to visit a friend of mine. I actually met here in Australia, even though we're both Norwegian. I hadn`t seen her since Australia, so it was very nice to be able to catch up again. I stayed there for 3 days and we went to the zoo, listening to live music downtown and to the climbing park. I decided to drive there instead of taking the train, and I've never driven that before, so it was definitely out of my comfort zone. But it was so worth it. On the way back home, I decided to take a detour and drive someplace I've always wanted to see: a lighthouse on the most southern part  of Norway. Now I had the chance, but it made me drive for 4 hours back home instead. Again, so worth it.
